CHIEF BUILDING OFFICIAL/BY-LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

The Township of Bonnechere Valley is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Chief Building Official/By-Law Enforcement Officer. Reporting to the CAO and Council, the Chief Building Official/By-Law Enforcement Officer is responsible for reviewing building plans, issuing building, septic, and plumbing permits, and inspecting buildings to ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and Township By-laws. The CBO/By-Law Officer will act as the Property Standards and Zoning Officer as well as the Management Representative on the Joint Health and Safety Committee. The CBO/By-Law Officer is responsible for administering zoning, property standards, civic signs, animal control and by-law enforcement services. The CBO performs the above responsibilities in accordance with budgets, objectives, policies and programs approved by Council and all applicable by-laws and Ontario regulations.
