The Sand Road Waste Site is located at 957 Sand Road.  The hours of operation vary between the Summer and Winter Hours.  Please refer to the Hours of Operation schedule for days and times.

The Sand Road Waste Site accepts the following materials:

  • Household Waste
  • Recycling
  • Brush
  • Scrap Metal (stoves, refrigerators, washer and dryers, dishwashers, freezer, air conditioners, stainless steel, steel, and metal patio furniture as some examples)
  • Electronic Waste
  • Organic Wet Waste
  • Household Hazardous Waste (*Note: Only on Saturdays during the summer)

The items highlighted in "red" are items, in which are FREE to take to this facility.

Residents will require a Waste Site & Transfer Station Permit/Card or as it is more commonly referrred to as the "Green Card".  If you do not have the Waste Site & Transfer Station Permt/Card then you must pay $2.00 per bag to dispose of your Household Waste.  Method of payment is cash only.  If you are not a frequent visitor to the site please provide proof of residency (driver's license, tax bill, and/or a residency card may be obtained at the Municipal Office) to the Waste Site Attendant).

The Waste Site & Transfer Station Permit/Card are available at the Municipal Office or from the Waste Site Attendant.The fee for the Permit/Card is $20 for a half card (10 squares/$2.00 per square) and they have no expiry.  The Municipal Office does sell a $40 full card (20 squares/$2.00 per square) option.

The Sand Road Waste Site is also home to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot.  The depot is only open on Saturdays and is typically open the Saturday of the long weekend in May and closes the last Saturday in September.  For more information pertaining to the hours of operation and items accepted at the Hazardous Waste Depot, please visit the Household Hazardous Waste Depot section of our website.
